The need for professional certified guardianship care is likely to grow substantially due to an ag
ing population couples with US Census statistics that one in five persons in the United States today lives with a disability. There are over 700,000 American adults with some form of intellectual disavility living with aging parents; at least one of whom is over the age of 65.
In our Guardianship Program, we focus on building relationships through personal visits, nurturing community involvement, sponsoring events to enhance community awareness and facilitating friendships through volunteer opportunities.
The essential services of legal guadianship are personal, medical and financial advocacy. Bridge goes beyond that, making each person a member of our Bridge family. Knowing that isolation and loneliness are often the most painful aspects of disability, building relationships is at the heart of our ministry services.
Founded to “bridge the gap” between special needs adults and the community by bringing us into fellowship at functions such as the Sunday Evening Celebration, hosted once a year at John Knox.
How you can help: Serve as a van driver; offer encouragement through a Circle of Friends support group; help host a Sunday Evening Celebration.

Bridge Ministries Dinner
Mark your calendar for June 26th.
JK will host another Bridge dinner on June 26th from 4:00-6:00 PM
This year we will have the Rappin' Rev. joining us for a little concert after dinner (5:00 PM).
If you haven't heard of Rappin' Rev, we would like to invite you to come and hear Bible stories in a different way. If you and/or your life group would like to help out with the Bridge Ministries dinner, we can use your help as kitchen crews, table host, setup and clean up crews, etc. Contact Nhi Porter for more information.
